Venice in Summer is a wonderful place to be.
Colorful flower boxes add a splash of red while the gondolas ply their way up canals sparkling aquamarine in the summer sunshine.
The light of Venice in summer is unlike anywhere else I have ever been, soft yet brilliant too. Completely enchanting.
I do hope you enjoy these photos of a Venetian summer and if you have any of your own, of Venice or elsewhere in Italy, please feel free to share them at the bottom of this page.
Ghosts in Venice
Venice is full of haunted buildings. The most infamous is Ca Dario which has for centuries killed nearly all its owners in often violent ways. Very often, if you look carefully, you will see masked faces staring out at you from dark corners and windows throughout Venice. The photo above shows a spot people have told me is haunted - who knows! I can't see anything...can you?
A Lovely View of Venice
The photo above was taken just down the way from St. Mark's Square and a short walk away from one of Venice's best hotels. THE place to pamper yourself in Venice.
A Venice Gondola Photo
Sometimes you feel like royalty when you take a gondola ride in Venice.
The gondola above with its plush seats and gold trim shows what I mean.
Venice in Summer
Isn't life just like Venice? So many bridges to cross but so beautiful. Thank you Lucia Facco for sending us this photo.
What a wonderful sight to behold! The marble opulence of the Ca' Pesaro palace is always gorgeous - more so though on a sunny day when the marble seems so iand to literally sparkle . Ca' Pesaro was built in the 17th century and now houses one of Venice's most important museums - the Modern Art Museum of Venice.
Me, together with my husband and son in Venice this summer. The photo was taking near St Mark's square. For a guide to the

Rialto Fish Market Photo
The incredible Rialto Fish Market. This is one of the most amazing fish
markets I have ever been to. The quality of the fish and the stunning setting next to the Rialto bridge make it one of the must-see sites of
Gondolas on a Summer Morning
Early morning in Venice and the gondolas are all ready to go.
I include a lot of my photos, taken around Italy, on the site. I'm not a great photographer but sometimes pictures of people and places you love don't need to be "professional" to convey a whole lot of magic. If you too have some special Italian photos & moments please share them!
