The Essential Book about Venice
The Traveller's Companion to Venice is essential reading before you visit Venice. Hugely successful in capturing that sense of history and atmosphere which goes to makes Venice so uniquely different. Even better is the fact that the book is so easy to read unlike so many Venice guide books, most of which seem to be plodding at best.
On finishing the book I found I was literally chomping at the bit to get on the first plane to Venice. Maria's reply:
I know the book and agree it is well worth reading and certainly very different to most Venice guide books.

A Thousand Days in Venice
Venice has to be the most romantic city on earth and this book made me long to live there. It inspired me to visit and on many occasions the sheer beauty and romance of it all had me in tears - sentimental soul that I am.
If you love life with a passion, are a romantic at heart and want to discover Venice then read A Thousand Days in Venice.
Maria's reply: Thank you for sharing your review, the cover alone is enough to make you want to visit :-)
