Looking for a good hotel or bed & breakfast in Veneto? From Verona to Treviso I have selected the best Veneto hotels and bed and breakfasts. All are those I can recommend with confidence.
I don’t feature endless lists - only those I know personally and that I think are well worth staying at. Many are places I've stayed at while exploring the Veneto together with my family.
Those nearer to our home in Vicenza are often the sort of places where I know the people running the hotel. People I can trust won't let me down by giving you a horrible time.
We spent a few days at the Hotel de Capuleti this summer -the photo above was taken from my bedroom window. It is perfect if you like clean, very modern and efficient hotels. Add to that a great breakfast, friendly staff (they let us check in three hours early) and a perfect location just around the corner from the Roman Arena. Don't take my word for it though, check out the comments and review scores of other guests here.
The Hotel Verona is an excellent three star hotel, in a great location and spotlessly clean. The free bicycles for guests is a nice touch and bicycle is a great way to explore Verona. The hotel was completely refurbished in May 2009. For more guest reviews and booking details click here.
Completely different to the very modern Hotel Verona is the Gabbia d’Oro, which means Golden Cage in English. A lot more expensive too but then you do get to stay in a magnificent 18th century palace in a perfect location near Piazza Erbe and the Arena. Definitely the best hotel in Verona and one of the best Veneto Hotels outside of Venice. For guest reviews and booking details click here.
The Ca' Bianchini is an 19th century farmhouse set in extensive grounds just outside of Treviso. Very good value, in fact the owners should really think of charging a bit more. Depending on the season you can get rooms from around 80 Euros. A huge pool, free bicycles and a great breakfast are just a few of the many other good points. The Hotel Belludi is miles ahead of any other hotel in Padua. Good value, very central location and with views of Padua’s Basilica di Sant'Antonio. Breakfast in bed is a nice touch and not common in Italy. Read more here.
Vicenza for some reason seems to have very few decent hotels and virtually none in the old town where you really want to be. The G Boutique Hotel is far and away the best bet if you are looking for a well-run, clean and friendly hotel offering very good rates and in the perfect location. In fact it is so good and so unique you'll have a hard time believing it is a three star hotel.
