Colfosco/Corvara

by Patrick Mulvihill
(Benowa,Qld.Australia)

I am an Australian and skied here in winter 2010 with 10 mates. Our holiday was organised by Skiare Ski Tours and I can recommend these people for an excellent ski holiday.

We were provided with guides whenever we required them and they took us to places we would never have found by ourselves. Skiing in this area has to be seen to be believed.

We are competent skiers and have been to many resorts worldwide and this year we are returning to Colfosco for another two weeks. Skiing the 45 klms Selaronda round trip both ways is great fun.

Maria's reply:

Thank you for sharing. Colfosco and Colvara are great places indeed.

I can remember, many years ago, staying at the Gran Ciasa in Colfosco.

For those who might not know Colfosco is a little hamlet a short distance from the village of Corvara. The nearest "city" is Bolzano.

Bolzano is a city I've always enjoyed and if you didn't visit last time, I would really suggest you try to fit in a daytrip, if you can, next time.

Your experience with Skiare Ski Tours sounds interesting. Was this an Australian based company? It would be really good if you could share whatever other info you might have on them and any photos you might have of the area would be greatly appreciated too.

Enjoy your next two weeks skiing in Colfosco!
