Restaurants in Verona - Trattoria Amelia

Trattoria Amelia,

Lungadige B. Rubele 32 ,

Verona,

Tel: 045 800 5526

The Trattoria Amelia is right near the top of the list of our most loved restaurants in Verona Italy. Located on the banks of the Adige and very central the Antica Trattoria da l'Amelia is a short walk away from Piazza Bra, the Arena and most of the other main sights of Verona.

It is the ideal Verona restaurant if you would like a very typical, family-run restaurant with good food at prices that won’t break the bank. You can try a large selection of well prepared local dishes from the Verona area and the rest of the Veneto – particularly Venice and Vicenza.

Polenta with sorpressa, chicken livers and gorgonzola is the appetizer I really love. It combines classics from various parts of the Veneto region – polenta, livers and the quite wonderfully magnificent Sorpressa salami.

For a classic of Venice Italy you can try the Sarde in Saor (Sardines in a Vinegar sauce) as an appetizer or the Fegato (Livers) alla Veneziana as a main course.

You can keep on with local dishes (gnocchi, polenta, tripe) all through the menu but if you have not an adventurous bone in your body then they have things like lasagna too.

A fairly comprehensive wine list of local wines and those from further afield rounds things off nicely and waiters are helpful if you want advice on matching.

The restaurant has three rooms but in the summer it is a good idea to ask to be seated in the garden courtyard which has a delightful atmosphere.

Nowhere near the top of the list of fancy or expensive Verona restaurants but a good choice for eating local cuisine at reasonable prices.
