Car Hire in Venice Italy
Our car hire in Venice Italy guide explores some of the best car hire options available. First off it goes without saying that if you only want to explore Venice and/or other cities like Verona then a car is probably not necessary. Car Hire though is definitely the best way to explore the little towns and quaint country villages of the Veneto. It is the only way, unless you are a great cyclist that you can even reach many of these places.
Why not hire a little Italian Car - ideal for city driving
These out of the way little villages and hill-towns also happen to be some of the gems of the Veneto and in my opinion the best places to stay are the farmhouses and country cottages in these areas. It is therefore essential for anyone wanting to get an authentic taste of Veneto to have a car. Many of my friends and family who visit me here are quite amazed at how pleasant it is to drive in the Veneto. As Italian drivers go these are amongst the best and with the cities being small there is not the complete car chaos that you find in the bigger car congested cities like Rome and Milan. In terms of car hire I tend to find that EasyCar offers the best rates and good service but it does pay to shop around first. Car hire in Venice or Verona airport is expensive and car hire normally works out cheaper if organized before you leave. Most of the big car rental companies offer similar deals to EasyCar – companies like Hertz, Sixt and Maggiore all have good reputations. A good idea is often to compare the Italian car rental rates on sites like Kayak and Priceline. Even Expedia sometimes has some good rates for car hire in Italy.
